Longford Town 1, Shelbourne 0 (full-time)
Eric Lavine scored a superbly taken goal to give Longford a much-needed
league win, their first in 10 games.
Lavine nipped in behind the Shels defence onto Alan Reynolds ball over the
top to race in and shoot past Steve Williams for the only goal of the game
on 56 minutes.
In a close first-half the sides swapped excellent scoring chances.
Lavine missed a sitter after cleverly putting himself through on goal on 30
minutes.
At the other end, Peter Hutton then crashed a shot off the bar two minutes
before the break.
