The world now awaits the announcement of tomorrow’s singles line-up with baited breath.

That's it for Day 2 of the Ryder Cup. It's been great to see all the action from Gleneagles. Europe are now in a strong position after they won three of the foursomes this afternoon, while Martin Kaymer and Justin Rose managed to halve their game to leave Europe four ahead going into the 12 singles matches tomorrow.
Europe captain Paul McGinley seems thrilled with how things are going, understandably. "The guys were brave again,'' he said. ``It was a strong American performance this morning but we came out this afternoon in the foursomes, and wave after wave we performed again. Collectively as a team everyone has pulled their weight and we've come together.''
Memories of the Miracle at Medinah then with that score, as that was also the lead the United States held heading into day three. And we all remember how that one finished...
Moving back to 2014, however, McIlroy is just happy to have picked up his first win at Gleneagles, saying: “Today was a great battle. It’s just great to put a point on the board for Europe and edge us closer to retaining this cup.”
Jamie Donaldson/Lee Westwood v Zach Johnson/Matt Kuchar - Europe win 2&1

American hopes seem to hang on the contest between Spieth/Reed and Rose/Kaymer. The German's missed putt on the 16th leaves Reed with a chance to win the hole, but the Ryder Cup rookie looks on in agony as his ball lips out to leave the contest all square. Nothing seems to be going right for Team USA now.
Rory McIlroy's birdie on the 14th has put Europe 2 up in his match.
Jamie Donaldson/Lee Westwood v Zach Johnson/Matt Kuchar - Europe win 2&1
Martin Kaymer/Justin Rose v Jordan Spieth/Patrick Reed - All square after 16 holes

Victor Dubuisson/Graeme McDowell v Rickie Fowler/Jimmy Walker - Europe 5 up after 13 holes
