Dundalk 2 Sligo Rovers 2
Dundalk’s appalling disciplinary record reared its head again as they had three players sent off at Oriel Park.
That’s a total of 16 dismissals for Sean Connor’s side this season and the FAI is likely to get tough with the Louth club following this latest rash of red cards.
Dublin referee Tom Connoly sent off Kevin McKinley, Chris Turner and then Thomas Heary, with the third red card leading to Connor ordering his players off the pitch in protest at Connolly handling of the game.
Thankfully that didn't happen as the game finished with eight-man Dundalk somehow holding on for a point a point.
Sligo took the lead on 27 minutes when Raff Cretaro scored for the fourth time in as many games.
Michael McGowan levelled for Dundalk within three minutes.
The Lilywhites took the lead from a Chris Turner penalty three minutes into the second half before the first red card arrived two minutes later when McKinley lashed out at Cretaro.
Turner then saw red on the hour mark for handling a goal bound shot and Alan Keane levelled from the resultant penalty.
Heary was then dismissed seven minutes later.
