(2003) Following their antics in the Wild West in Shanghai Noon, Chinese warrior Chon Wang (Jackie Chan) – pronounced John Wayne – and hapless cowboy Roy O’Bannon (Owen Wilson) travel to Victorian London to catch the killer of Chon’s estranged father.
There, the double-act stumble upon a plot to murder Queen Victoria, orchestrated by dastardly Lord Rathbone (Aidan Gillen).
For pure unabashed entertainment, Shanghai Knights is hard to knock, despite a script which makes little sense, charging from one dazzling martial arts sequence to another, and marrying physical acrobatics with some wonderful Harold Lloyd-esque slapstick.
