While we sit here waiting patiently for a glimpse of
dress, or a shot of the kiss that tied the knot, we can’t help but reminisce about how we came to love Brangelina.Once upon a time …. during the making of the hit movie Mrs & Mr Smith rumours began to fly over the on set chemistry between the leading man and woman, Brad and Angie.
At the time all allegations were denied. The couple were “just friends” and, speaking of friends, (excuse the pun) Brad was at the time married to Jennifer Aniston.
In January 2005 our hearts were broken by the news that Brad and Jennifer filed for divorce citing “irreconcilable differences” but we couldn't help but remember the on-screen chemistry between ‘Mrs & Mrs Smith’.
Later that year adorable pictures of Brad, Angelina and her adopted son Maddox on a beach in Kenya were released.
Was this confirming the new couple?
We had to wait until January 2006 - not long after she adopted her second child, six-month-old daughter Zahara Marley, from an orphanage in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia - for Jolie to confirm to People magazine that she was pregnant with her first child, and Pitt was the father.
After Shiloh was born, Jolie was quoted in The New York Times as saying she was excited for her children to see “Mr. & Mrs. Smith” because “not a lot of people get to see a movie where their parents fell in love”. Cute.
Although both Pitt and Jolie had long maintained that while there was chemistry on the set of “Smith”, Pitt did not cheat on Aniston during production and began his relationship with Jolie until after they had separated.
In March 2007 Jolie adopted then three-year-old Pax from an orphanage in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam and after much speculation gave birth to twins Knox and Vivienne in July 2008.
Their relationship has just moved from strength to strength and hairstyle to hairstyle throughout the years and has reaffirmed our faith in celebrity couples.
After the new broke today we couldn’t help looking back on those the wedding scenes and that infamous kiss from Mr & Mrs Smith.
