Birmingham will be without five senior players for the visit of manager Steve Bruce’s former club Manchester United to St Andrews tomorrow.

Birmingham will be without five senior players for the visit of manager Steve Bruce’s former club Manchester United to St Andrews tomorrow.

Muzzy Izzet, Stephen Clemence, Stan Lazaridis, long-term injury victim Mikael Forssell and Clinton Morrison are all ruled out to leave Bruce with only 17 players.

Morrison will undergo a cartilage operation on Monday and is expected to be sidelined for a month with the injury suffered on World Cup duty for the Republic Of Ireland.

Provisional squad: Maik Taylor, Melchiot, Tebily, Clapham, Gray, Upson, Cunningham, Martin Taylor, Johnson, Savage, Dunn, Gronkjaer, Anderton, Yorke, Heskey, Kilkenny, Bennett.
