Sinn Fein says the Kerry North TD Martin Ferris is fully entitled to hold a medical card.

Sinn Fein says the Kerry North TD Martin Ferris is fully entitled to hold a medical card.

The party responded to criticism of the deputy following a newspaper report today - a spokesperson said the reports were 'mischievous and inaccurate'.

Mr. Ferris stated last night that he was entitled to hold a medical card until the end of the year.

In addition, he stated that officially he was entitled to a medical card after being unemployed for a period.

This evening a party spokesperson said that this was based on his eligibility and the fact that he suffers from severe asthma.
