The Select Committee on Justice, Defence and Equality will meet today to consider the redress bill for Magdelene women.

Advocacy groups have described it as “unacceptable, unfair and full of broken promises”.

It proposes women who lived in the laundries would be entitled to free health services, including GP care, prescription medicines, nursing and home-help.
