Millwall 0, Blackburn 1 (full-time)

Worthington Cup finalists Blackburn needed a last-gasp Andy Cole header and a world-class save from goalkeeper Brad Friedel to claim their place in the last 16 of the FA Cup at Division One frontrunners Millwall today.

Former Manchester United striker Cole bundled home an 86th-minute Alan Mahon cross after Friedel had kept the scoreline blank by spectacularly clawing a looping Darren Ward header off his goalline just before the interval.

Gueret also made an excellent save from a powerful Jansen free-kick that squirted through a forest of legs - and survived an 80th-minute scare when a Damien Duff strike squeezed through his hands and luckily rebounded off the post and into his lap.

The shot-stopper also punched away a fiercely-hit Cole effort - but the £8m striker finally broke the deadlock in the 86th minute.

The former Manchester United forward, taunted throughout by the home fans, leapt highest to head a Alan Mahon cross into the net and put Rovers into the draw for the last 16 of the FA Cup.
