Cabinet fail to find Irish Water agreement

The Taoiseach Enda Kenny has confirmed that the cabinet failed to sign off on plans for water charges at a meeting this morning.

However, he is confirmed to the Dáil that households will face water charges of at least €240-a-year.

Kenny added the EU has put a limit on the amount to which the State can fund the new Irish Water utility.

He has also confirmed that it will mean bills of €60 every three months, beginning in January.
