Danny Healy-Rae set for TV

Danny Healy-Rae is to be the subject of a German documentary.

The Kerry County Councillor came to the attention of the media there, after he called for rural dwellers in isolated areas to be allowed a higher drink-driving limit.

The story gained international notoriety after some council colleagues supported his motion to raise the alcohol limit.

According to the Irish Examiner, a TV crew from Hamburg in Germany is now spending four days filming Healy-Rae, documenting his "passion" and support for rural dwellers.

He has also been interviewed by other media outlets in Germany, along with interest from Chile, Italy and Spain.
