Report: Budget to be brought forward
According to reports in various media today, the Government is planning to bring forward the publication of a Budget, with November being mentioned as the likely date.
The Department of Finance could not confirm the reports, saying that a statement will be issued by the Department of the Taoiseach at some point today.
The speculation comes in the wake of several calls from Opposition TDs today to recall the Dáil from its summer recess to deal with the economic downturn.
