Lennon confirms Faye interest

Neil Lennon has admitted his interest in Abdoulaye Faye but denied the Stoke defender was in Glasgow preparing to sign.

Neil Lennon has admitted his interest in Abdoulaye Faye but denied the Stoke defender was in Glasgow preparing to sign.

The Hoops boss has no central defenders available for tomorrow’s Clydesdale Bank Premier League clash with Aberdeen at Pittodrie and is searching desperately for cover.

Asked about Faye, Lennon replied: “I don’t think he is in Glasgow.

“He is a name that we have been linked with along with a lot of other names.

“He is one that does interest us but I have nothing to say on it.

“We are looking to add to the strikers roster as well but it is difficult and it is very late in the month.

“We are still working on a few things but there is nothing definitive yet.

“We are hoping we will have something over the next few hours but there is nothing guaranteed.”

Thomas Rogne became the latest central defender to drop out with an injury after sustaining a calf strain during the Co-operative Insurance Cup semi-final win over the Dons at Hampden on Saturday.
