A major new gaming facility is officially opening in Galway today with the launch of one of the most expensive online games ever made.

A major new gaming facility is officially opening in Galway today with the launch of one of the most expensive online games ever made.

Gaming company Electronic Arts (EA) will launch 'Star Wars: The Old Republic' which is thought to have cost up to $100m (€75m) to develop.

EA announced plans for its Irish operation, known as Bio Ware Ireland, last year with an expected staff of 200.

Meanwhile further details are expected to be released this morning after the IDA announced that Twitter is to establish an international office in Dublin.
