France back-row forward Imanol Harinordoquy remains confident he will play against Scotland on Sunday despite being troubled by a left elbow injury.
The French vice-captain picked up the injury in Pau’s 22-11 defeat to Castres on Saturday.
“I still feel the pain but it’s less intense than it was on Saturday and Sunday,” Harinordoquy said.
“Considering the development of the injury in the last 48 hours, I am very optimistic about my participation in the match on Sunday.”
Harinordoquy will undergo further examinations in Paris on Thursday.
Les Bleus have become the Grand Slam favourites after winning all their first three matches over Ireland (35-17), Italy (25-0) and Wales (29-22) while England, the defending champions, lost their last match to Ireland.
France coach Bernard Laporte will announce his starting team on Wednesday morning. The Scotland clash is France’s last before they welcome England to the Stade de France on March 27.
