Police recovered the remains of a pipe bomb in north Belfast, an RUC spokesman said tonight.

Police recovered the remains of a pipe bomb in north Belfast, an RUC spokesman said tonight.

The find was made along with two cases of empty bottles in the Canning Street/North Queen Street/Duncairn Gardens area of the city this afternoon.

Sinn Fein claimed a blast bomb exploded there during sectarian disturbances last night.
