Gavin Whelan tapped in the first on 23 minutes from Declan O’Brien’s lay off.

Jermaine Sandvliet and Gary Cronin then combined to set up Andy Myler for a super finish for the second goal on 34 minutes.

Seven minutes later the lively O’Brien ran through onto Steven Gray’s ball to add the third.

Peter Hutton pulled down O’Brien to give John Lester Drogheda’s fourth from the penalty spot on 56 minutes.
