Chelsea chief executive Peter Kenyon believes Robinho will give Luiz Felipe Scolari’s side “an added dimension” if he moves to Stamford Bridge before the transfer window closes.

Reports have claimed a deal for the Brazil international will be completed within the next 48 hours.

Kenyon said on Sky Sports News: “Scolari identified two targets when we appointed him as manager. One was Deco and the other was Robinho. Everyone has seen the impact that Deco has had on the Premier League.

“I think the squad is capable of competing without Robinho but with him will give us an added dimension.”
