Rovers got their season up and running with this big win to end Blues' unbeaten start.

Keith O'Halloran fired them in front from a free-kick on 27 minutes after referee Paul Tuite had angered the home side by changing his initial decision to give a penalty following a linesman’s flag.

Shane Robinson made it 2-0 seven minutes after the break when tapping in a Trevor Molloy cross.

The third came on the hour when David Breen put through his own goal for the second match running from Robinson’s cross shot.

Man-of-the-match Molloy then set up Mark Rutherford for the fourth goal 11 minutes from time.
