First road accident victim of 2001 dies in Monaghan

An elderly man in Co Monaghan has become the first person to be killed on the roads this year.

An elderly man in Co Monaghan has become the first person to be killed on the roads this year.

The man, in his early sixties, died when his tractor overturned at Laragh, near Castleblayney. Last year, more than 415 people died in traffic accidents.
