The IRFU have dismissed claims Munster boss Declan Kidney will be appointed Ireland coach before the weekend.
Kidney is understood to have met with high-ranking officials in Dublin yesterday en route to Munster’s Magners League re-fixture away to Ulster at Ravenhill.
However, IRFU spokesman Karl Richardson last night said: “There has been a lot of speculation about an appointment. But there is nothing planned.
“The process to select an Ireland coach is ongoing.”
Kidney will try to stay focused this month preparing Munster for a fourth Heineken Cup final.
Meanwhile, Munster will wear navy for the Heineken Cup final after it was decided by the toss of a coin.
However, Munster will have the use of the same dressing room they used in 2006 when they beat Biarritz.
