BA suspends flights to Shannon and Cork

British Airways has suspended all its flights from Gatwick Airport in London to Shannon and Cork as a result of the attacks in the US earlier this month.

British Airways has suspended all its flights from Gatwick Airport in London to Shannon and Cork as a result of the attacks in the US earlier this month.

The company also plans to close its route between Heathrow Airport and Belfast from October 27th.

BA currently employs 310 people in its Belfast base.

Unions representing the workers claim the airline has been looking for an excuse to pull out of Belfast for some time.
