A late own by Jason Gavin earned Eddie Gormley a point in his first match in charge as Bray ended a run of eight straight defeats to lift themselves off the foot of the table.

Drogheda skipper Declan O’Brien headed home Shane Robinson’s 62nd minute corner to put the home side in front.

But substitute Kieran O’Brien’s 87th minute cross was fumbled by Drogheda keeper Dan Connor and Gavin inadvertently directed the ball into his own net off his knee.
