Kerry lead Galway by three points at half-time in their All-Ireland quarter-final clash at Croke Park.

Kerry 1-09, Galway 1-06 (half-time)

Kerry lead Galway by three points at half-time in their All-Ireland quarter-final clash at Croke Park.

A Sean O'Sullivan goal in the later stages of the half cancelled out Michael Donnellan's earlier effort.

O'Sullivan netted from a tight angle past Alan Keane in the 29th minute as Kerry threaten to pull away from the Tribesmen.

Colm Cooper and Mike Frank Russell opened the scoring for Kerry, but Galway pulled a point back.

Then Michael Donnellan burst through for a solo goal, before captain Padraig Joyce pulled them further ahead.

However, two points from Mike Frank Russell and Colm Cooper put Kerry back into the lead.

Kevin Walsh kept Galway in touch before Eoin Brosnan added another for the Kingdom.

Colm Cooper scored another, and Richie Fahy immediately moved wings to mark him.

Dara O'Cinneide then took his side's tally to nine points with the first scored free of the day.

Matthew Clancy had to settle for a point for the Tribesmen as his effort went over the bar, but Sean O'Sullivan didn't make the same mistake at the other end.

Padraig Joyce almost immediately went for goal, but again had to settle for a point and Derek Savage wrapped up his side's first-half tally with another point.
