Gardaí appeal for information in Rialto assault

Gardaí have reissued their appeal for information on a serious assault which occurred in the Rialto area of Dublin in the early hours of last Saturday morning, May 19.

Gardaí have reissued their appeal for information on a serious assault which occurred in the Rialto area of Dublin in the early hours of last Saturday morning, May 19.

A woman on her way home from a night out was stabbed a number of times in the neck and upper body at Lourdes Road in Dublin 8.

The victim of the apparently unprovoked attack was rushed to hospital where she received a number of blood transfusions, and she is now in a stable condition.

Gardaí would like to speak to a man and woman aged between 20 and 30 who were standing on Cork Street, opposite the Centra shop, and who were trying to hail a taxi at around 3.20am.
