The Irish Medicines Board is urging all patients prescribed with Paratabs 500mg pills to return them due to fears of contamination.

A batch of the tablets was also recalled last month, but the IMB says the manufacturer is now withdrawing all batches due to an extension of the contamination scare.

The IMB says the cause of the contamination is under investigation, but is likely to be mould.

Patients are being advised not to take anymore Paratabs and return unused tablets, while pharmacists are being asked to quarantine any unsold packs.
