Gardaí are appealing for witnesses after two women were killed in a crash in Co Donegal.

The collision happened on the R252 near Ballybofey at around 4.15pm yesterday afternoon.

The women, aged 19 and 38 died after the car they were travelling in left the road, collided with a pole and came to a stop in a parking area for trucks.

The 19-year-old was pronounced dead at the scene while the 38-year-old woman was taken to Letterkenny University Hospital where she was later pronounced dead.

A man in his 40s who was travelling with them was also taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
