The North's version of the Criminal Assets Bureau should be given similar powers to the Republic's, according to the SDLP.

The North's version of the Criminal Assets Bureau should be given similar powers to the Republic's, according to the SDLP.

A party delegation met with the Asset Recovery Agency's chief, Alan McQuillan, to seek powers in line with those of the CAB, which was set up here in 1996.

Party chairman, Alex Attwood, says the agency has had only limited success since its inception as it can only pursue cases where police can't achieve prosecutions.
