Special Olympics Opening Ceremony begins

The Special Olympics opening ceremony has got underway this evening with a spectacular display of colour at Croke Park.

The Special Olympics opening ceremony has got underway this evening with a spectacular display of colour at Croke Park.

The ceremony, hosted by Patrick Kielty, sees athletes from across the world are being introduced to the crowds.

Some of the biggest names in film, sport and music, including Roy Keane, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Frankie Fredericks and Bon Jovi are at the ceremony.

Special guests also include Muhammed Ali and Nelson Mandela.

The show will include live performances from Riverdance, U2, Macnas and a range of other acts.
