Dirty Den back on Square after Internet claims

Leslie Grantham was back on the set of EastEnders today after reports that he sent naked pictures of himself to a woman from his BBC dressing room.

Leslie Grantham was back on the set of EastEnders today after reports that he sent naked pictures of himself to a woman from his BBC dressing room.

The actor was also coming face to face for the first time with co-stars some of whom he allegedly described as “vile, big-headed and thick”.

Filming was continuing on the set of the BBC soap after the internet sex revelations in Sunday newspapers.

Grantham was unavailable for comment today.

An EastEnders source said the actor was back working at the BBC’s Elstree studios in Hertfordshire.

The BBC is looking into the claims that Grantham sent naked images of himself over the Internet from his dressing room at the BBC studios.

The 57-year-old, who plays Dirty Den in the show, was reported to have set up a webcam and sent explicit images of himself to a woman.

The People claimed that Grantham, a married father-of-three, transmitted the material while in his EastEnders dressing room.

The actor was said to have described sexual fantasies before exposing himself in front of the webcam.

It was also reported that Grantham sent sexually explicit messages by email to the 23-year-old woman, known only as Amanda.

A BBC spokesman said the corporation was looking into the reports but refused to add any further comment.

More than 17 million people watched Dirty Den’s return to EastEnders last year after a 14-year absence.

EastEnders chiefs had tried for years to bring back Den, who was apparently shot dead in February 1989 by a gangland hitman.

It was thought the Queen Vic landlord had gone to a watery grave in Walford canal but he actually had a new life in Spain.

He and wife Angie were the most popular double act in the history of the show. More than 30 million viewers tuned into the Christmas Day episode in 1986 when he presented her with divorce papers.
