E-payments solution group Trintech today said that Ottakar's, a leading UK book store, has signed up to use Trintech's ReconNet and its ExecuNET executive Reporting Suite to automate the verification of its cash banking and credit card transactions.

Ottakar's has a reputation for strongly individual high street shops staffed by book enthusiasts able to offer high quality levels of customer service.

"I was convinced that ReconNET was the solution we needed to streamline our transaction management and reconciliation processes after the first 30-minute discussion with Trintech," said Edward Knighton, finance director of Ottakar's.

Ottakar's was founded in 1987 and floated on the London Stock Exchange in 1998. The company now employs around 1,800 staff in over 120 stores throughout the UK.

Last week Irish based Trintech put in its first quarter of profitability since 1998 in the last three months of 2003 with revenue growth of 17%.
