The Government's special envoy for the Asian tsunami disaster is due to depart for the region today to assess how Irish aid is being spent.
Former Fianna Fáil TD Chris Flood has been tasked with overseeing how the €75m donated by the Government is being allocated.
During his trip this week, he is due to visit Sri Lanka and Indonesia, the two of the countries worst-affected by the December 26 tsunami, which killed up to 300,000 people.
