A man has been seriously injured in a single-vehicle road collision in Dundalk, Co Louth.

A man has been seriously injured in a single-vehicle road collision in Dundalk, Co Louth.

The car, with five people on board, overturned at Donaghmore, Kilkerley, at 5.30am this morning.

The 48-year-old driver was seriously injured, while one passenger suffered injuries which are described as not life-threatening.

Gardaí say the R178 will be closed between Mount Avenue and Thomastown Cross until further notice.

Driving conditions are hazardous in many areas with black ice in places, and flooding in Dublin, Cork and Tipperary.
