AIB is refunding more than €8m to ATM customers who did not take their cash when it was dispensed, after a review of unsuccessful cash withdrawals from ATM machines.

AIB is refunding more than €8m to ATM customers who did not take their cash when it was dispensed, after a review of unsuccessful cash withdrawals from ATM machines.

€5.1m is being refunded to 41,000 AIB customers, while €3.2m relating to 30,000 non-AIB customers will also be refunded, including compensatory interest.

It relates to cases where a customer’s account was debited for a cash withdrawal even though they did not take the cash when it was dispensed.
