Environment Minister Alan Kelly has pledged more emergency accommodation for homeless people in Dublin.
Minister Kelly says the government will ensure there is enough accommodation provided by Christmas so nobody in the city will have to sleep rough - unless they want to.
An emergency summit on the crisis took place at the Department of the Environment in Dublin yesterday following the death of homeless man Jonathan Corrie just metres from the Dáil earlier this week.
Minister Kelly has said that the number of emergency beds has increased to 200.
"We have already had a number of offers," he said.
"I'm delighted that actually, now, the emergency accommodation beds, we've increased to 200, will be made available very shortly within days and weeks.
"So I'm happy that has come as a result of everything that's done. I want to thank the people who have offered that, because everyone's pulling together.
"It will be located, specifically in Dublin, it will be located in a number of areas around the city."
