A man in his late twenties is due to appear before a Galway court this morning in connection with the murder of Swiss teenager Manuela Riedo.
The man was among four people arrested in the city yesterday morning as part of a planned operation by detectives investigating the killing.
The other two men and a woman have been released without charge pending instructions from the DPP.
Seventeen-year-old Manuela Riedo was strangled to death last week just days after arriving in Galway to study English.
Her body was found on waste ground near Lake Attalia ten days ago.
The Irish Ambassador to Switzerland, James Sharkey, is to represent the Irish Government at her funeral near Berne later today.
