Man rapes young woman after breaking into house

A 22-year-old man who broke into a woman's house and raped her has been remanded in custody for sentence later by Mr Justice Paul Carney at the Central Criminal Court.

A 22-year-old man who broke into a woman's house and raped her has been remanded in custody for sentence later by Mr Justice Paul Carney at the Central Criminal Court.

David McCartan of Casement Road, Finglas pleaded guilty to rape, oral rape and burglary to commit rape at the now 20-year-old's north Dublin suburban home on August 31, 2008.

Mr Justice Carney directed that McCartan be registered as a sex offender and that a victim impact report be prepared for the sentence hearing at which evidence will be given by Detective Garda Adrian Mulligan.
