More than 17,000 runners at today'sBelfast City Marathon stood in silence in memory of the spectators killed in the Boston bombings.

More than 17,000 runners at today'sBelfast City Marathon stood in silence in memory of the spectators killed in the Boston bombings.

The streets around City Hall fell silent for 30 seconds before the crowd burst into a round of applause and the race got underway.

Three people were killed and more than 200 injured in last month's attack.
