Gardaí investigating the murder of a man on a Dublin street during rush-hour traffic today appealed for witnesses to come forward.

Officers probing the shooting of Raymond Collins, 42, on November 14 at Clonliffe Avenue, Dublin 3 called for a man out walking his dog to make contact with them.

Mr Collins, from Matt Talbot Court in Dublin’s north inner city, was gunned down by a pillion passenger on a motorbike at around 5pm as he walked down the road near his home.

A garda spokesman said officers at Fitzgibbon Street Garda Station would like to speak to anyone with information and in particular the man who crossed the road beside the Esso Service Station in Fairview close to the murder scene.

“The man is believed to be in his late 30’s or early 40’s and was walking a small terrier dog on a leash,” the garda said.
