Chemical spill sparks evacuation in Tallaght

The Whitestown Industrial Estate in the Tallaght area of south-west Dublin has been evacuated after a chemical spill in the area.

The Whitestown Industrial Estate in the Tallaght area of south-west Dublin has been evacuated after a chemical spill in the area.

The incident occurred at a factory in the estate at about 12.15pm today.

The area has been sealed off, including a section of the Tallaght by-pass from Jobstown to Tallaght Hospital.

The road is expected to reopen later this afternoon.
