Cork City 3 Limerick FC 1 (aet)
Goals in extra-time from Vincent Escude-Candau and Graham Cummins fired Cork City into the EA Sports Cup final against either holders Sligo Rovers or Derry City on September 24th.
Escude-Candau blasted a penalty to the roof of the net in the 103rd minute.
Cummins then got through one-on-one with Barry Ryan to seal it five minutes later.
Limerick started well and deserved their 13th minute lead.
City midfielder Shane Duggan won the ball from Paudie Quinn, but it spurn away for striker Peter Hynes to shoot past Mark McNulty.
Cork levelled 15 minutes later, defender Peter White hauled down winger Derek O’Brien inside the area and Davin O’Neill sent Ryan the wrong way from the penalty.
In a very tight second half, Cork’s Danny Murphy cleared off the line from Quinn at the death to force extra-time.
