23 companies banned from JobBridge, Burton reports

23 companies are now banned from taking part in the JobBridge internship scheme, according to Minister for Social Protection Joan Burton .

Speaking in the Dáil, she outlined some of the reasons businesses have been removed from the internship programme.

These included "failure to adhere to the standard agreement" failing to prove that interns received proper mentoring, not completing monthly update reports, using interns to do the work of "displaced staff", and not providing a reference to the intern."

Minister Burton said the figure of 23 companies is low, given that more than 7,000 companies have taken part and more than 2,000 inspections have been carried out.
