A 29-year-old woman is appearing in court charged in connection with an attack on a garda in Dublin yesterday.

A 29-year-old woman is appearing in court charged in connection with an attack on a garda in Dublin yesterday.

The officer in his 20s received serious injuries after being doused with boiling oil during a call-out at Mary Aikenhead House on James Street.

The young garda was rushed to hospital where he is being treated for his injuries to his face, neck and shoulder.

The Garda Representative Association has condemned the attack, saying the incident highlighted the challenges gardaí face on a daily basis.
