The Taoiseach and the Government are expected to come under further pressure from the opposition this week following newspaper allegations against Padraig Flynn.
News reports last week claimed the former Fianna Fáil minister Padraig Flynn had lodged a €50,000 donation from property developer Tom Gilmartin in an offshore account for the purposes of evading tax.
The 1989 investment was allegedly facilitated by his daughter, Fianna Fáil TD Beverley Cooper-Flynn.
Mr Flynn was also accused of failing to inform gardaí of corruption allegations made by Mr Gilmartin around the same time.
Opposition parties are expected to call for a statement from the Taoiseach on the matter.
Labour Party leader Pat Rabbitte, however, has vowed not to let the Government off the hook.
“The Taoiseach has to come into the Dáil and make a full and frank comprehensive statement about all of this rather than us having to drag it out of him,” Mr Rabbitte said.
“Quite frankly, I think people are getting sick of having to extract information like you were pulling teeth. I’m determined that there will be no ordinary business done in the Dáil unless we get a clear statement and I would hope that other parties would support me.”
