The man, in his 40s and believed to be from Killybegs, Co Donegal but had been a resident of Clogherhead, Co Louth disappeared yesterday evening while the boat was in Castletownbere.

It is understood the vessel with several crew had pulled in to the harbour overnight and to take on supplies.

Local RNLI crews searched the fishing port with a diving team also taking to the water.

His remains were found by a crew from Castletownbere RNLI at about 1.30pm.
