DPP applies for media restrictions on Laide trial

An application to restrict media coverage concerning Dermot Laide in the run up to his manslaughter trial next April 24, has been made by the Director of Public Prosecutions.

An application to restrict media coverage concerning Dermot Laide in the run up to his manslaughter trial next April 24, has been made by the Director of Public Prosecutions.

Mr Laide (aged 23), from Rossvale, Castleblayney, Co Monaghan has pleaded not guilty to unlawful killing of teenager Brian Murphy outside the Burlington hotel on August 31, 2000.

The date for hearing has been set for November 17 and will be heard before Judge Frank O'Donnell.
