Trimble set for Blair meeting

Tony Blair will meet Ulster Unionist leader David Trimble in London today to discuss the worsening situation in the North.

Tony Blair will meet Ulster Unionist leader David Trimble in London today to discuss the worsening situation in the North.

Mr Trimble is expected to ask Mr Blair to table a resolution at Westminster expelling Sinn Féin from Stormont.

Either way, Ian Paisley's DUP says its two ministers will resign today, in a bid to force David Trimble’s hand on resignation.

The DUP has also tabled an emergency resolution at Stormont today calling for Sinn Féin to be thrown out of the Executive.
