Factory syndicate wins €250k in Lotto

A syndicate of factory workers in Dublin have picked up a cheque for €250,000 after winning the lottery.

The group of 14 men from BD Medical in Dun Laoghaire work as machine operators assembling pen needles for diabetics.

They won just under €18,000 each in the Easter Millionaire Raffle Draw on Easter Monday.

Gareth Kelly, who has worked there for 10 years, said the boys didn’t believe him when he told them about the win.

"Got a phone call - over the moon! Couldn't believe it," he said.

"I was ringing all the other guys, and I'm a bit of a messer, you know what I mean? None of the lads would believe me - I rang four lads, and they wouldn't believe me … but happy days."
