Limerick will have four championship newcomers in their team for Sunday's Munster SFC quarter-final tussle with Tipperary (Fermoy, throw-in 3.30pm).

Three of the debutants are in a new-look full-forward line as Kieran O'Callaghan, Dermot Phelan and Ian Ryan line out together for the first time at this level.

O'Callaghan, who captained the Limerick Under-21s last year, has been selected as the Shannonsiders' skipper for this summer's championship.

O'Callaghan's Ballylanders club-mate Stephen Walsh is the fourth debutant in the Limerick side - he will start at left corner back.

Managed by Mickey Ned O'Sullivan for a third season, Limerick have goalkeeper Sean Kiely back from suspension and speedy wing forward Stephen Kelly returns after helping Shannon win the AIB Cup last month.

Kelly, Johnny McCarthy and John Galvin are the only surviving members from the Limerick team that last faced Tipperary in the championship back in 2004.

Limerick won that tie by 0-16 to 3-5 en route to the Munster final.

Tipperary, who are managed by Kerryman John Evans, will confirm their starting team and substitutes after training tonight.
