Duo doubtful for St Pat's

St Patrick's Athletic will be hoping to build on Friday’s victory when they take on Galway United at Richmond Park tonight, kick-off 7.30pm.

St Patrick's Athletic will be hoping to build on Friday’s victory when they take on Galway United at Richmond Park tonight, kick-off 7.30pm.

Pete Mahon’s side defeated Drogheda United on Friday, which the Inchicore side will hope has kick-started their season ahead of tonight’s visit of Sean Connor’s Galway.

Conor Kenna remains out for St Pat’s, while Neil Harney is struggling with a calf injury and James O'Brien is also missing with an ankle injury.

Ian Bermingham and Shane McFaul are both doubtful ahead of the clash, however Dave Mulcahy should be included after recovering from a hamstring injury.

Saints boss Pete Mahon said: “Friday was a crucial win for us. It was a good follow-up after playing well in Derry.

“We weren’t flattered by the results as we played well and passed it well to create plenty of chances. I’m hoping this is the start of a sustained run to get us out of the bottom half of the table. “

Gary Curran remains out for Galway as he is recovering from a broken metatarsal, while Joseph Yoffe is also missing with an ankle injury.

Bobby Ryan injured his back in Friday’s defeat to Shamrock Rovers and will also miss out on the trip to Dublin.

Shaun Maher is carrying an injury and is a doubt for Connor’s side.

Galway manager Connor said: "The changes we can make are limited. All the players that are fit and healthy will be in the mix as we don't have the luxury of trying different options at the moment.

“We're just going to have to dig in and work hard until we can get those four or five players back in contention for a place."
